Australian incumbent is forced to separate

Australia has taken the same road as the UK and the government has decided that Telstra, the incumbent operator, needs to be separated in a wholesale and a retail company.

This is a good example of a country committed with telecommunications, as from my perspective, I find this the only way to create really competitive markets and thus, create an scenario where operators are encouraged to invest into new generation networks.

When, here in Spain, will we have the courage to discuss this issues and not let Telefonica abuse of their predominant situation?

Now we are in a situation where we are creating a digital divide between Spain and most of the rest of the European countries…
